Another pair of successful panels for G-FEST this year!
In March of 2026 I was on a round-table panel titled "Pelts or Portals: Cryptid Identity in the 21st Century" at the second Gods & Monsters conference at Texas State University, hosted by religious studies scholars Joe Laycock and Natasha Mikles.
I'll be at Gods & Monsters 2 next year.
Following the tremendous success of my "From Cryptids to Kaijū" panel at G-FEST XXIX, I returned in 2025 with a follow-up panel on Japanese ufology, as well as a second panel on Japanese cosmic horror inspired by my essay for the forthcoming book Eldritch Islands: Essays on the Cthulhu Mythos and Lovecraftian Horror in Japan (McFarland).
My third appearance on MonsterTalk, to help Blake and Karen navigate the incredibly Fortean-dense anime series Dandadan.
Ahead of my appearance at G-FEST XXIX to discuss my new essay "From Cryptids to Kaijū" I return to MonsterTalk to discuss the same with Blake and Karen.
My hit panel for G-FEST XXIX on the history of cryptozoology in Japan
